There is even a motor racing track. True to its city status, Pattaya, unlike other beach resorts, shows no slackening of pace after sundown.

South Pattaya, popularly referred to as "The Strip", or Walking street is packed with all kinds of restaurants, bars, open-air bars, nightclubs, go go bars, cabaret show, discos, and shops. Shopping possibilities are as varied as Pattaya 's other attractions. Souvenirs, handicrafts, gems and jeweler, ready-to-wear and custom-tailored clothing, paintings and more are all to be found along "The Strip" and increasingly at smart shops and department stores throughout the resort.

Mini Siam & Mini Europe Located near Pattaya Klang, it displays Thai and European heritage on a miniature scale. This is the third miniature town in the world after the Netherlands and Taiwan that brings together models of important objects and historical sites of different culture, and civilizations of various periods from the ancient time till the present.

Million Years Stone Park & Crocodile Farm Located some 9 kilometers from Pattaya township, comprises breeding pens with more than 1,000 crocodiles, a zoo, and a bonsai garden decorated with rock formations. There are crocodile shows!

Wat Yansangwararam A temple under the king's patronage is unique for its modern Thai architecture. Here meditation courses are available.

Siam Country Club Located at Km. 145 on Sukhumvit Highway, with the left turn about 11 kilometers. With 6,448 yards, par 72, it is one of country's most challenging courses with lots of wooded hills.

Pattaya Elephant Village Is on the road to Siam Country Club Golf Courses. The village shows elephant displaying forestry skills, playing football and re-enactment of the war elephant parade. The village also demonstrates how wild elephants were captured in the northeastern part of Thailand. Daily show.

The Bira International Circuit of Pattaya is Located at Km. 14 on Route 36 to Rayong, offers international motor and motorcycle racing occasionally. The temple Sanctuary of Truth The Sanctuary of Truth, Soi 12 of Naklua Road. Ithis temple is much older than Pattaya. Sometimes you can swim with the dolphins in the waters in front of the temple's beach. Dolphins are not always available. The temple itself is unique: all in wood! It is something shouldn’t be missed in any tour of Thailand, not only Pattaya.

Jomtien Beach located less than 2 kilometers from south Pattaya. White sandy beach.
Pattaya Park Between south Pattaya and Jomtien Beach, there is also a water amusement park with water sliders, whirlpools and large pool for children.
Nong Nooch Covers an area of some 500 acres about 12 kilometers from South Pattaya. It is a Thai-village-style park. The entire area is beautifully landscaped, with orchid nursery and other botanical gardens. There are also cultural and traditional performances and an elephant show. Nowadays overpriced.
Ko Larn (or Ko Lan) 45 minutes offshore by tourist boat is the largest of Pattaya's islands. Major attractions include viewing coral reefs from glass bottomed boats, snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing. Avoid going with the 15 minutes speed boat. Many accidents! There are many seafood restaurants on the island's main beaches. Deep sea fishing can be arranged to Ko Lan's neighboring islands such as Ko Khrok and Ko Sak.
Beyond Ko Lan another 40 minutes sail is Ko Phai (island) currently under the care of the Royal Navy. It has beautiful deserted beaches. Visitors are not allowed to stay overnight. All the nearby islands are easy to get to and charters can be arranged through the hotels or tour companies or by negotiating a price direct with the boat owners. Boat charters cost 700-1,500 bath per day depending on high or low season and the size of the boat.
Pattaya Festival Pattaya resorts puts on its most festival face for this annual event, held in April at the height of the summer season. Food and floral floats, beauty contests, stalls selling local delicacies, and a spectacular display of fireworks on the beach are only a few of the highlights that will be seen. Beside this one many festivals and sports event are held in Pattaya: the world fireworks competition, the Pattaya Music festival, The Pattaya marathon, The bikini Marathon and many others.

Trips from Pattaya

There are plenty of places to go from Pattaya, as a day trip or even 3 or 4 days, here 2 little suggestion if you are a sea lover:
Koh Samet, or Kho Kaew Phisadan is the most well known attraction off Rayong offering beautiful beaches with charming white sand, strange shaped rocks. Kho Samet is located 6.5Km from Ban Phe. There are boat service available all day and plenty of accommodation as well.
Kho Chang, translated as "elephant island" is the second largest island in Thailand, Kho Chang is not developed as Kho Samet, it is more quite, peaceful and primitive. There are other attraction that which make Kho Chang an interest place to visit, there are waterfalls, forest, fruit plantation and boating tour around to see the surrounding islands and snorkeling . It is plenty of accommodation as well.

Health and safety

Like in the whole Thailand (and in most part of the world) never drink tap water, and don't even gargle with it, so neither in Pattaya. Always use bottled water, which is readily available and inexpensive. The sun is strong even in the raining season so use a good sunscreen and limit your exposure time, but you will see that you won’t even have time to go to the beach….. Malaria here is not a problem. Seafood is mostly caught locally and is of high quality, but be careful with spicy ingredients or unscrupulous vendors!
The most likely way of slowing down your vacation (beside getting married…) is by having an accident, so watch your step when crossing the road!
Medicines for minor hilliness are ready available and often for cheap than usual. High standard of medical treatment can be expected from most of the clinics and hospitals with high price, buy a good travel insurance. General practitioners, dentist (if you need it, take it on the spot!), opticians and pharmacies are ready available.

• Never ever confront yourself with locals. Avoid this situation.
• Ask for price before getting in a taxi or buy any kind of service and products
• Stay away from solitary dark road
